I felt compelled to review this book when I didn’t see any already on Amazon. I just got into the Black Hammer comics recently and have loved the main series. I wasn’t sure if these side stories were essential, so I just wanted to say right off the bat YES THEY ARE.First off, this book includes two mini-series, one which takes place in the middle of the main story and helps fill in some narrative gaps, while the second is just one of the best mini series I’ve ever read. That story, which focuses on the character Dr. Andromeda, just broke me. It has been a while since I read something with such impact in only four issues, but I highly recommend this oversized hardcover for that alone. You also get the usual array of extras in the back too.So to sum up, if you’re on the fence whether you need this and are enjoying reading Black Hammer, don’t hesitate, just get it.
